It depends on your fiber and your intended use for your fiber so the strighter, coarser and shorter your fiber is the more you may need to add wool to your fiber, also the larger your finished item ie sweater the more you would want to add wool to help your finished items to keep their shape.
Yes we can process small batches but there tends to be more fiber loss than larger batches also you will be charged for a one pound minium.
On the average sheep will range from 3-10 pounds per year. Angora goats 2-6 pounds every 6 months. Llamas barrel cuts 1-2 pounds per year. Full cut 2-5 pounds per year. Alpacas Hucaya 3-7 pounds per year and suri 4-8 pounds per year. * Note suri alpacas should be sheared yearly. Remember you will loose some fiber weight from skirting and sheep wool will loose 10-30% from grease after washing.
4 oz of sport weight yarn will make a hat. 6-8 oz of sport weight yarn will make a pair of mittens. 1-3 pounds will make a sweater.
